Jim Ed Newman, 72, a retired yard conductor for Union Pacific Railroad, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at a local nursing home.

Funeral: noon Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane A. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors: Daughter, Dana Doering; granddaughter, Daryn Darr; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Sammy Rudel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donny and Peggy Newman and Don Earl and Linda Newman; and many other beloved family members and friends.
