Bobby
Wayne Smith, 53, a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend,
passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008, in his sleep at home.Graveside service: 9 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Bobby was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Fort Worth. He was an accomplished athlete who could master any sport. Bobby was the first freshman at Arlington Heights to letter in two sports, baseball and football. He was also an avid bowler and even after a serious injury to his hand, could still bowl a 300 game. He was a 30-year employee at Union Pacific Railroad, but what came first in his life was his family. Bobby loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy, and a brother, Ronald Gene. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. There was never a stranger in Bobby's eyes. Survivors: Wife of 31 years, Cindy Smith; son, Bobby Wayne Smith Jr. and wife, Shana; daughter, Brandi Meyer and husband, John; grandsons, Trevor and Troy Meyer; father, Gene Austin Smith; brother, Eddy Smith and wife, Carolyn; sister, Brenda Petteway; two more grandchildren on the way; and a host of other family members.
